FitMitra Privacy Policy

FitMitra is a fitness, food, progress and cycle tracking app made for India. This policy explains what information the app handles, where it is kept, and what choices you have. The short version: almost everything you enter stays on your phone; the only thing we keep on our servers is the account you sign in with.

Who We Are

FitMitra is provided by Sriram InfoTech, India. For privacy questions, requests or grievances, write to sriraminfotech@zohomail.in. We reply within 30 days.

Information You Provide

Depending on the features you use, the app stores the following on your device:

• Profile: name, age, height, weight, sex (optional), goal, activity level, diet type (veg / non-veg / egg), food sensitivities (lactose, gluten, nuts) and the units you prefer.
• Health notes you choose to add: diabetes, high blood pressure, kidney concerns, and any current pain (knee, lower back, shoulder) so the coach can leave out moves that load that joint.
• Coach answers: gym experience, days a week you can train, minutes per session, where you train.
• Workouts: plans, sessions, sets, weights, notes and progress summaries.
• Food and water: meals, nutrition entries, custom foods, barcode or label scan results, meal templates, water logged.
• Cycle: if you turn on the Cycle tab, the period start dates you log and your reminder preference. The calendar's predictions (next period, fertile window, estimated ovulation) are calculated on your phone from those dates.
• Photos: progress photos or meal photos you add from your camera or gallery.
• App lock PIN: if you set one, it is kept only on the device.
• Family profiles: the same kinds of data for each person you add on one phone. Each profile is separate; anyone with the phone (and the PIN, if set) can open them.
• Account: when you sign in with Google or a phone number, your name, email address and phone number.
• Feedback or support messages you choose to send by email.

Health and Cycle Data Stays on Your Phone

Your body measurements, health notes, pain areas, food logs, workouts and cycle dates are stored only on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers, are not used for advertising, and are not shared with anyone unless you export a backup or use a share button yourself. Deleting a profile in Settings, or uninstalling the app, removes them.

What Is Stored on Our Servers

If you sign in, Firebase Authentication holds your sign-in identity and a record in Cloud Firestore holds your display name, email address, phone number (if you used phone sign-in), whether onboarding was completed, and created / updated timestamps. Nothing else from the app is stored in the cloud. Firebase servers may be located outside India.

Estimates, Not Medical Advice

Calorie and protein targets are estimates from standard equations (ICMR-NIN 2020 and FAO/WHO/UNU) using the details you enter. Cycle predictions are estimates from the dates you log; they are not contraception and only a test confirms ovulation. Starting weights and rest days are suggestions. FitMitra is not a medical device and does not give medical advice. Talk to a qualified professional before changing your diet, exercise or medication, and stop if something hurts.

Camera, Photos and Scanning

The app asks for camera or photo access only when you add a progress or meal photo, scan a barcode, or read a food label. Barcode, label and image recognition run on your device with Google ML Kit; the images are not uploaded. Photos are not required for any core feature.

Online Food Lookup (Open Food Facts)

When you scan a barcode or search a packaged food that the built-in Indian food list does not know, the app can look it up on Open Food Facts, a public non-profit database. Only the barcode or the food name is sent, never your profile or diary. This is on by default and can be turned off in Settings. Open Food Facts has its own privacy policy.

Content Downloads

Exercise photos, coaching cues, the food list and the coach's prescription tables are downloaded from our content server through the jsDelivr CDN and GitHub, and the exercise library from a public exercise database on GitHub. These downloads carry no personal data; like any web request, the servers see your IP address and app version.

Voice Coach

The optional voice coach reads cues aloud using your phone's own text-to-speech engine. It works on the device, does not use the microphone and records nothing.

Notifications

With your permission the app schedules local reminders for meals, workouts, water, weigh-ins and, if you turn it on, your period. These are created on the device, not sent from a server. A period reminder can appear on your lock screen; you choose whether to enable it and how many days ahead. Turn any reminder off in the app or in your device settings.

Analytics, Remote Configuration and Advertising

FitMitra uses Firebase Analytics, Firebase Remote Config and Google Mobile Ads. Analytics receives feature-usage events (for example "session finished", "guided screen opened") and device diagnostics, never your food, weight, health notes or cycle data. Remote Config lets us switch features on or off and point the app at new content without an update. Google Mobile Ads may process device identifiers, advertising identifiers and approximate location inferred from the network, where your device settings and the law allow. You can reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings.

Third-Party Services

• Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Remote Config, Google Sign-In (Google LLC).
• Google Mobile Ads (AdMob).
• Google ML Kit for barcode, label and text recognition, running on the device.
• Open Food Facts, for packaged-food lookup you can turn off.
• jsDelivr and GitHub, for content downloads.

Each processes data under its own privacy policy.

How We Use Information

• To run the app's tracking, coaching, reminder, backup and cycle features on your device.
• To sign you in and keep your account working across phones.
• To understand which features are used and to find and fix problems.
• To answer support requests and feedback you send.
• To show ads and manage feature switches where those are enabled.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. Data may be processed by the service providers listed above, by your device platform, or when required for legal compliance, security or fraud prevention. Backups and share buttons put the data in your hands: a backup file contains your profiles, health notes, logs and cycle dates, so keep it somewhere you trust.

Retention and Deletion

• On your phone: data stays until you delete a profile (Settings → Family), reset or uninstall the app. Backup files you exported remain wherever you saved them.
• Account: to delete your account and the Firestore record described above, email us from the address you signed in with. We delete within 30 days, except what the law requires us to keep.

Your Rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and similar laws elsewhere, you can ask what personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, withdraw consent, and raise a grievance. Most of this you can do yourself in the app, since the data is on your phone; for account data, email us. If you are not satisfied with our response you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.

Security

Network requests use HTTPS. Data on your device is protected by your phone's security and, if you set one, the app lock PIN. No method is perfect; keep your device updated and your backups private.

Children

FitMitra is intended for adults. It is not directed to anyone under 18 in India or under 13 elsewhere, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we will help remove the data.

Changes to This Policy

We update this page when the app changes what it does with data, with a new effective date at the top. Material changes are also noted in the app's release notes.
